Choir performance of "Tears of Darfur"

13 Oct. 2007. "Tears of Darfur," for SATB choir, is presented at AmeriCares 2007 Airlift Benefit. Superbly performed by The ProArte Singers, Arthur Sjögren conducted. The 700 guests for this gala, held at Westchester Airport were treated to an arrangement by Igor Stravinsky of "The Star Spangled Banner" as the hangar doors opened and 60 AmeriCares employees and guests boarded a plane bound for Mexico. After dinner, the 16 singers and three percussionists performed the world première of "Tears of Darfur", followed by three African songs.
